The Grocery Store When Eli was little he was the best little shopper. He would just hang out in the car seat and really seemed to enjoy it. I felt very blessed. Then the day came and he was too big to lug in the carseat and he could sit on the seat on the cart and be satisfied. I would always have a snack of some sort in my purse for when he "might" get impatient usually at the checkout line when we stopped moving for a long period of time, but usually he was pretty mellow and fun to take to shopping. NOW....it is a WHOLE NEW WORLD!! He will not sit in the cart for longer than 5 seconds unless I'm holding his leg down, so the result is he hangs out in the front of the cart and plays with everything I drop in and throws things out as he pleases and I'm constantly shoving crackers in his mouth to keep him from whining or screaming. Thursday I went grocery shopping again... and this is what we ended up coming home with: The checker found the smashed ziplock bags first and held them up with a questioning glance and I just had to reply, "yes, it was stepped on and their are a few other smashed boxes, opened animal crackers, and the package of hot dogs have a bite taken out of them(I guess he was hungry sitting in a basket of food)... what I didn't mention was the lost sucker somewhere in the store that he had one minute and the next it was gone (hopefully he didn't deposit it on a shelf???...sorry in advance if your in Winco and find a half eaten sucker stuck to your food)

I dread shopping with my 2 kids. I haven't had food bitten into but it is challenging. Hang in there. Oh and the sign looks awesome. we need to hang out.

That's funny - Winco has several gold fish and other goodies that we have deposited while shopping. Your experience sounds just like mine. We, too have taken many opened and bitten packages through checkout! :)

I can totally relate! Logan went through that phase! Once he turned around to the back, grabbed the carton of eggs and dumped them everywhere. It was the biggest mess and sooo embarrasing! Luckily a nice, patient man was there to help clean up!

And to say about this picture I remember those days. Especially the hotdogs. Emily loved hotdogs. Well check out my blog. Love Stephanie

that's HILARIOUS!!!! i can't go grocery shopping when i'm hungry for the exact same reason... i've also learned to just carry a basket... i tend to fill whatever container i'm carrying/pushing... baskets are cheaper to fill than carts...
